Although it took me many months to get up the courage to call an organizer, I am so glad the organizer I finally did call was Ruth Hadlock. From our beginning conversation, I felt a trust in her and knew she would treat me and my neuroses with care. Clutter to me is depression and I was so tired of being in that mood.  Being organized is fun if you have Ruth. You don't feel intimidated by her; she will become your fairy organizer. Working with her teaches you how to start other projects on your own.  One of the many other things Ruth will do is she brings the garbage bags, will haul out the donations, bring the charity slip for tax write-offs and dump the trash.  I love working with Ruth as she gives me insight to the bigger picture. 4 hours with Ruth could give you another day to yourself to meet friends, volunteer or be with family.  It might be the best thing I have done for myself in years.

Clutter and cleaning have always been an issue with my husband and me.  I collect and have trouble letting go and he 'cleans' with no rhyme or reason. Most of our arguments are about this issue. Ruth has lifted a huge weight off of me. I am a fairly organized woman, but cannot control paper.  Partly because, as a historian, I know how valuable the printed page can be in the history of a person, an idea, an issue, or an organization.I called on Ruth to help me sort at least three years of papers that I had randomly dumped into six cardboard file boxes and stored in closets, behind and under beds, and in other random places. I also had nine large drawers in three different file cabinets that need to be reorganized and integrated with all the loose papers.Ruth swept in with her organizational mind and within a short time we had a system. We had four half-day sessions where we emptied every storage box and meshed the new files with old ones in the file cabinets. We filled several more organized boxes with papers for me to take to the library archives.All my files are now accessible to me now, and will be for others in the future. I did an online search for "board certified professional organizer ".  Ruth popped up as one of two in Utah. I called her and started this process. From the moment she interviewed me to see if I was a fit, I knew it would be good. She asked me questions to help me process why I sought her out and then dug in with me in the ways I requested. In the end, I solved some big rock struggles at my home and I learned some mindsets I could adopt to maintain and face the chaos if it came up again without taking it personally. Ruth was amazing and literally changed my life for the better! In preparation for a move and renting my house, we had to quickly clear out four rooms (my office, two bathrooms, and my bedroom).
