- If I were shopping right now, would I pay full price for this?
- Would this be worth packing up if I were to move?
- If I close my eyes and ask my body and/or my heart, what do they say?
- Does this contribute to my life in a positive way?
- Is it worth the energy it takes to maintain it?
- Am I keeping this out of obligation or fear?
- Would someone else enjoy this more than I do?
- How many items do I have that serve the same purpose (or are duplications)?
- Can I get this again for under $20 in under 20 minutes? (The Minimalists)
- Does it fit with my overall goal or is it in line with my values?
- Is this an 8 or higher on a 1-10 scale in terms of how much I love/want/need it?
- Has this served & outlived its purpose?
- Do I even like this?
- Is the money I could make by selling this item worth my time invested? (If yes, at what price or higher?)
- Just because I used it in the past, does it mean I need to keep it for the future?
- How difficult/expensive would it be to replace this item if I needed to?
- What if I needed it and didn’t have it? What would happen?
- Is this item of decent quality enough to keep?
- Does this item feel like ME today~ not yesterday, not tomorrow?”
- What’s the worst thing that could happen if I donated this item? (If you can’t live with the answer, consider keeping it. If you can, donate it)
- Did I even remember I had this item?
- How do I feel about someone having to decide about this (and all my possessions) after I’m gone?
